As this article on slashdot refers to a scientific study from columbia university, which show that a brain network responsible for suppressing inappropriate or unwarranted aggressive behaviors became less active after study subjects watched several short clips from popular movies depicting acts of violence.

So - you might probably separate the first life from the second, but not the reverse.
